If we call it “fiber art” are we saying it’s not really “art”? Is it not “art” because it’s merely decorative? Is our need to be descriptive and classify rooted in the artistic impulse to create a beautiful interpretation of the world or is it all about status and cash? If we don’t have a chance on making money on the outcome of the art/craft distinction, can we find it in our hearts to care?

They are available to purchase in their original blue boxes. So bright and shiny it’s hard to believe that Ed’s “House of Ugly” refused them.

A beautiful vintage Mahogany plant stand: 14 inches square and 30 inches tall with a drawer and a glass sheet to protect the top. Unfortunately we don’t have the key for the drawer (much like the problem I had with the divorcee). You’ll have to supply your own or accept that the drawer can’t be locked.

Two decorative plant pots with standard south of the border designs and coloring. One has a slight crack and the other an interesting pinch in the underlying clay body, but neither slight defect stops them from doing their job. Perfect for the patio, balcony, or driveway. Summer will come again!

Fine clear grained Shaker style ladder back chairs with rush seats. Although we’d like them to be pristine 19th Century pieces they are rather more contemporary.

In the wet cold of winter in Oregon, the Estate Store has opened its doors to act as a branch of the Island of Misfit Toys.
